It gives me an immense pleasure on this moment to pen my views on the occassion of Silver Jubilee of Srimati Narsamma Arts, Commerce and Science College, Kiran Nagar, Amravati. This year, all the stakeholders are celebrating the Silver Jubilee of our institution. We are striving and leading the glorious path of success.
This college has come a long way from the days of its humble begining.At present, we have well equipped, modern research laboratories, well-stocked, computerized central library, spacious classrooms, dedicated leased internet connectivity, network - resource Centre, Botanical Garden and vast playfields and sports-arena spread over 10 acres of sprawling campus.
This college has been mentored and looked after by a visionary trust - selfless individuals inspired by the philosophy of Sanskritik Rashtravad. Education for us does not begin and end within the four walls of classroom. Neither education is limited only to the scope and boundaries defined by the curriculum and the textbooks. Eduction has to play a key role in transforming lives in positive ways. Education has to empower the powerless and make one realize her/his true potential. We believe that imparting education is to help creative thinking, wise, compassionate, responsible and free individuals. In a way we believe that an educational institute, especially for higher studies, has a responsibility to groom, mentor and inspire the youth to be the significant stakeholders in the progress of our nation.
It is with this view, that the college has started contemporarily relevant subjects like Enviornmental Science, Industrial Chemistry, Chemistry (Organic),Computer Science and Mathematics. We have also started 3 Certicate Courses namely Cert. course in Soil Testing, E-Commerce & Retail Management, Chemical Processing. Also we have started Research Centres in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Mathematics and Sociology. We are definitely to declare that we have already proposed the Research Centres in Economics, Marathi and Library Science. Along with this, we have also proposed P.G. Diploma in Analytical Chemistry & Instrumentation. We have also signed M.O.U.s with various N.G.O.s. In addition to this the college has also made available the necessary infrastructure to set up research laboratories for Ph.D. students. This focus on research activities has resulted in consistent success of students-participants in S. G.B.A. University level Research competition called Avishkar. So far the college has been awarded more than 100 colour-coats by the SGB Amravati University for securing top positions in the competitions. The faculty members, apart from being engaged in their doctoral research, have also undertaken various Minor and Major research projects funded by the UGC.
